The WTFC Organization (“WTFC”) Philosophy on Privacy:
We require Contributors who wish to make a donation through our WTFC website (the "Site") to give us information, such as individual name, address, phone number, e-mail address and credit card information (collectively, the "Personal Information"). We may e-mail information to Contributors at the email address that the Contributor provides regarding merchandise that the contributor has requested or about WTFC.
Contributors may opt out of receiving future communications about WTFC as described below. Except (i) as provided for in this privacy Statement, and (ii) to process payment transactions for the donations, we do not disclose to third parties the Personal Information provided to us.
WTFC may disclose personally identifiable information in response to legal process (for example, in response to a court order or subpoena). WTFC may also disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency’s request or where WTFC believes it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or as otherwise required by law. In addition, WTFC may transfer information about Contributors if WTFC merges with another non-profit organization.
Individual records may at times be viewed or accessed by WTFC for the sole purpose of resolving a technical Site-related problem or as may be required by law.
WTFC may also collect certain information from Contributors, such as Internet Protocol addresses. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems and to administer our Site in order to constantly improve the quality of the Services. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from our Contributors and provide such information to third parties. If personally identifiable information is disclosed by WTFC to third parties acting as our agents, such third parties will be required to comply with WTFC’s Privacy Statement.
Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure Contributors that personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Statement.
When a Contributor or visitor interacts with the Site, we strive to make that experience easy and meaningful. When a Contributor or visitor comes to the Site, our Web server sends a cookie to the Contributor’s or visitor’s computer. Cookies are files that Web browsers place on a computer's hard drive and are used to tell us whether Contributors and visitors have visited the Site previously.
Stand-alone cookies do not identify a Contributor or visitor personally. They merely recognize that Contributor or visitor’s browser. Unless a Contributor or visitor chooses to identify itself to WTFC through a donation, it remains anonymous to WTFC. Cookies come in two “flavors”: session and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during an online session and disappear from the Contributor or visitor’s computer when the Contributor or visitor closes its browser software or turns off its computer. Persistent cookies remain on a Contributor or visitor’s computer after it has closed its browser or turned off its computer. Persistent cookies include such information as a unique identifier for a browser.
WTFC uses session cookies containing encrypted information to allow the system to uniquely identify a Contributor while the Contributor is logged in. This information allows WTFC to process a Contributor’s online transactions and requests.
If, at any time after registering to use WTFC, a Contributor changes its decision about receiving information from us or about sharing its information with third parties, the Contributor should send us a request specifying its new choice. Simply send the request to email@example.com.
Questions regarding this Privacy Statement or the practices of this Site should be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. WTFC will respond with reasonable promptness following receipt of the email.
WTFC reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Statement. Any material changes to this Privacy Statement will be prominently posted online and accessible via the Site 30 days prior to taking effect. Your continued access of the Site will constitute consent to the terms of the prevailing Privacy Statement.
This is WTFC Privacy Statement Version 1.
The Privacy Statement posted on the Site was updated on October 17, 2011.
